I know I commented last week about how the Super Bowl commercials were such a huge part of pop culture and the game. Well the game didn't seem to have that many great commercials as a part of it this year. There were a few that were pretty funny, but for the most part, really they were kind of weak. I think I said something yesterday about a few that I liked, so I thought that today I would add them to the blog.
This one was just about my favorite of the night. I heard a bit of the story about it today as well. Two brothers who were unemployeed came up with this ad for a contest by Dorito's and it won them a million dollars. It kind of goes to show you how big a deal these ads have become in our culture.
"Meeting" (Bud Light)
As much as anything else, this one was funny because the beer people almost always have funny stuff. Seems to say a bit too about our cultures view of drinking.
Career Builder: It's time
I thought this was dang funny too. I mean come on, who hasn't felt this way at least a few times when it comes to work? When the fist comes out and smacks the koala in the face is classic.
Coke Zero: Polamalu
Nice take on the classic Coke spot from 1979. The shirt bit at the end was good stuff.
Finally I thought this was one of the funniest things that I saw all night long. It was just a promo spot for NBC's Thursday night line up, but (no pun intended really) I thought it was great.
Like I said, these were a few of the ones that I liked best. Let me know if there were any that stood out to you. Peace and Love y'all.
