25 Random Things

This seems to be the "craze" right now...to write a list of "25 Random Things" about yourself. In all fairness, Roni wrote one of these just this week that was 25 Random Things (About My Husband), so in some ways I guess I have one of these out there already, but I thought that maybe I should do one myself, and since this is the day for to write a random type of post, I thought this would be a good one. So without further ado, here is my list of 25 Random Things About Blake.

1) I have a thing for tattoos. I have four (with more in mind) myself. The thing is though, I have a thing for tattoos on other people. I just tend to notice them--and Roni would probably want me to add "especially on other women."

2) The other night I had a first. I was publicly UN-invited to someone's birthday party. The thing is, I didn't ask about going, I merely commented on the fact that I had never been inside the place where the party is being held.

3) The first comic book that I bought when I officially started collecting them was issue #1 of Marvel's Super Pro. Yeah, it was about an ex-football player who now fought crime in a souped up football uniform--shoulder pads, helmet, knee pads, the whole bit. How cool was that?

4) I used to have multiple caps that I earned by doing Jump Rope for Heart.

5) Mom used to have two wigs. I mention this due to the fact that I liked to wear them so it would look like I had long hair. In my defense, I was in elementary school at the time.

6) Every summer when I was in elementary I would beg to not to have to get a hair cut so I could let my hair get long.

7) I wear an earring. I used to wear four earrings. I have had my ears pierced a total of 9 times. It took three times before I finally kept one in (long story), but I had wanted an earring since I was in about the 5th grade. I used to wear Mom's clip-on earrings at that point.

8) I love books. Seriously, they are awesome. I love places like Barnes and Noble. The problem is that there are many books that I own, but have never even opened or finished reading.

9) I mentioned earlier that for some reason I have always wanted long hair. At the same time, I love the way my head feels bald--Roni however isn't big on the way it looks.

10) I once peed on my shoe on accident. Thought I was aimed the right direction, but the next thing I knew, it was spraying all over my left foot. Thankfully I was wearing shoes.

11) I will watch pretty much any movie that I think looks interesting at least once.

12) My second year of church camp, I got the nickname Crew because of my flat-top hair style.

13) I have always wanted to be some kind of writer.

14) Even though I am 33, have three children and have been married for 10 years, I still don't always feel like I'm really an adult.

15) One of my favorite things to behold are skaters and BMXers when they are doing their stunts at things like the X Games. It simply amazes me.

16) I have recently gotten back into doing theater stuff after taking a 13 year break.

17) This is my 79th blog here on Blogger.

18) When I first started getting into "Christian" bands, my favorite was Whitecross, and they were a total 80's hair band.

19) I think cars are cool and I like to look at them and admire them, but all the car shows on Spike and Speed, and all the technical stuff means zip to me. It is so not my thing.

20) Strange as this may sound, there are times that I like to paint my finger nails cool colors--what? I'm married for 10 years, have three children and am 33, I'm secure with me.

21) I still think of Midland as home and would love for my kids to be able to go to school where I went, which is Greenwood.

22) I am the only one from my family (parents and siblings that is) that did not graduate from Snyder High School.

23) I really, really like cookies. Especially the cookies that Mom makes. Yeah it really doesn't matter which ones either.

24) My closest brush with fame is that from the 6th grade through graduation I lived across the street from Jessica McClure (Baby Jessica who was trapped in the well in Midland, for those of you old enough to remember that), and I am still friends with the family.

25) I will have been out of high school for 15 years in May. In that time I have gone only about a total of 7 months without facial hair of some kind and mainly on my chin. Now Roni doesn't like it when I decide to shave because it makes her feel older than she wants to.

Well there it is. 25 (hopefully) random things about me. Hope you enjoyed it. Peace and Love y'all.
