I do wonder if that is the song Vikings fans will be singing this week (or at least today) with the news breaking that Brett Favre is once again going to retire. It does seem like a very appropriate song for the last three years as far as Favre is concerned.
As has become Favre's preseason tradition, he once again informed the team he last played for that he will be "retiring" from football. If he sticks with it this time it will mark the third time in three seasons that he has decided to hang up his pads "for good". It will also mean that this commercial is not prophetic after all:
Regardless of what actually ends up happening in the next few weeks- whether he remains retired or comes back right as the season is starting- Favre has undoubtedly had a fantastic career in professional football.
